Purpose of Job

Responsible to the Nutritionist for the operations of the laboratory on a daily basis and make limited decisions to ensure the continuity of productions.

Main tasks of Job

  • Preparation of analysis samples of raw materials and finished products.
  • Preparation of analysis of all chemicals.
  • Performing routine analysis according to existing instructions.
  • Working, maintaining and generating reports from the NIR machine.
  • Using and maintaining a laboratory management information system
  • Maintaining the GMP and HACCP quality systems with regards to lab procedures.
  • Keeping the laboratory orderly.
  • Ensuring sufficient and cost effective laboratory supplies.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment.
  • Responsible for lab ring tests.
  • Manage quality control centres at production sites nationally.

Scope of Job

The position works closely with Production and is responsible for testing new products, monitoring processes, raw materials and finished products.  Recommends quality control procedures to ensure products meet quality specifications and standards. 

Adverse Working Conditions 

  • Occasional travel might be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hons. Degree in Chemistry (minimum requirement).
  • Possession of a valid code 08/EB drivers licence
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment will be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • The workings of the GMP and HACCP Quality systems would be an added advantage.
